Small Paintings?

I've always been interested in the size or scale of paintings, big and small. I think small paintings are engaging because it's possible to see their entirety and close-up, delight in the immediacy of the medium and intimacy of touch. Artists like Van Eyck, Vermeer, Vuillard, Freud, Diebenkorn, and Gillespie recognized the virtues of small works. This scale coupled with a caring hand and sensitive eye may communicate powerfully memorable images and perceptions.

These paintings whether on rigid or flexible supports, are painted in oil and protected by an archival varnish. They are unframed. The paintings on copper have a bar pin affixed to the back so that they may be worn as a brooch if so desired.
